How many hours per day should I study my target language?

Since we started teaching French and Italian, we have been asked this question hundreds of times.

We believe the best way to improve faster is to keep this word in mind:

CONSISTENCY

Whenever we begin studying a foreign language, this is an important aspect to remember.

You need to be ‘consistent’ and keep on practicing the language every day.

We can affirm that doing small but regular study sessions i.e. revising, listening to podcasts, watching tv series in your TL, will boost your language learning more than just studying once per week for 5 hours straight!⠀

When you are consistent, you reach a point where the language resonates in your mind.

Make sure to create a routine that works for you, give yourself some time to learn, do not overthink about getting fluent in just a few days/weeks: that’s a bad move to do as you will only get frustrated and you will end up giving up on the language.
